Yesterday I rode my bike along my usual eight-mile route. There is a turn around spot along the route that I have taken at least one hundred times. I started the turn, looked at the ground and suddenly realized that I had not been paying attention to the course and I had slowed down to a snail's pace. Ordinarily, neither of those factors would mean much. Yesterday, however, in combination, they wreaked havoc. My tire slipped in the sand and, you guessed it, before I knew it, I was taking a tumble. It was not a pretty fall. I fought against it and ended up sprawled across the bike and down on the ground. As I cleaned the dirt off of my white pants and skinned knee it occurred to me that I had lost focus and momentum and they precipitated the fall. I regained my composure and I wondered aloud how often this combination causes people to fall-- to lose motivation, become discouraged or walk away from dreams.
If you find that your focus has become distorted and your motivation is waning, look deep within yourself for true vision and renewed passion. Take time to reconnect. Rest assured that those things that you need to accomplish your goal have been provided. With a fresh outlook and renewed vigor get back on the bike of your life. Do not be discouraged by the fall. There was merely a lesson to be learned.

Today I Celebrate my Dad
My dad died seventeen years ago. Yet, there is not one day that I do not think of him. I smile when I am working inefficiently and I think of him telling me, "Get the right tool for the job and the job is made easy." I chuckle when I realize that I must change my tactics in order to accomplish a goal. I hear his voice stimulating an inner creativity, "There is more than one way to skin a cat." I reflect on his brilliant smile as he tells me, "I wouldn't trade you for all the tea in China," and I feel loved.

I Choose Joy
Khalid Gibran wrote, "Your joy is your sorrow unmasked." Those things that cause us the greatest joy in life also have the potential to cause us the greatest pain. Our pain then is a matter of perspective. Do we choose to think on the hurt or do we choose to reflect on the joy? I choose joy.

Claim your Joy!
Each day you awaken, you have the opportunity to be joyful. Your joy should neither be dictated by your physical circumstances nor your monetary value. True joy is based on the unshakeable knowledge that all that you need has been provided. Joy gives the asssurance that you have the internal power to transcend any situation. It is the spiritual awareness that the entire universe is ordered to foster your growth and positive movement.
